Alexander Wang for Balenciaga, Bye bye Nicholas!

On November 30 Nicholas Ghesquière left Balenciaga. After weeks of speculation as to who would replace Nicolas Ghesquière as Creative Director at Balenciaga, Alexander Wang has been confirmed to take helm at the fashion house.

Wang, known for his edgy, sportswear, is expected to bring a commercial, approachable appeal to the brand, which, under Nicolas Ghesquière’s control, has always been more of an exclusive brand with a couture-like aesthetic.

Further plans of Nicholas Ghesquière are still unknown. He’s been head of Balenciaga for 15 years.
I wonder if we will see him back in the future in the world of fashion, or if he’ll be gone with the wind. Only time will tell.

In this new Limited Edition Snow Chic-Collection of Tommy Hilfiger you find coats in flashy colours, sweaters with Flair Isle patterns, printed pants and fabulous evening clothing. But also a lot of interior accessories such as candles, plaids and pillows.

To celebrate the release of this new collection, Tommy Hilfiger himself made “Tommy’s Guide To Snow Chic“, filled with his favourite ski destinations, restaurants, hotels and a playlist with music for the holidays.

Welcome To The Dollhouse

Sophia Webster, a new face in the spotlight, but not in the industry of fashion!
Her first collection is the Spring-Summer collection of 2013 called "Welcome To The Dollhouse".

Sophia was originally an art student but then graduated at Cordwainers College (the same college where Jimmy Choo graduated) and then she worked as an assistant of Nicholas Kirkwood.
She became more famous in the fashion industry and now is ready to introduce her first collection.
She found her inspiration in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was so inspired by the colours they use in Brazil and how colorful the houses are, that she used it in her collection.
Even at places where people live in extreme poverty, they are still happy and people make everything colorful and she wanted people to feel the courage and happiness through her collection.

The shoes are a mix of design and total choas. Her number one celebrity fan is Chloe Moretz and her collection will be sold by Saks, Colette, Net-A-Porter, Bergdorf and Neiman.

Welcome in the spotlight of our fashion industry, Sophia! This dollhouse will soon turn into a mansion.

The Most Iconic Handbag Ever!

SPEEDY BAG

This must be the most iconic bag ever since Audrey Hepburn started to wear this Louis Vuitton piece of art almost everyday.
This bag comes in a few sizes:
25cm, 30 cm and 35cm.
I prefer the 30cm because it’s perfect to pack your daily essentials.
And when you don’t like the monogram canvas, there are also other prints available in every size!
Some people I know don’t like the fact that this bag has a million fake versions and to be honest, I wouldn’t like it either to walk around with a real designer bag, while others spend €50 on it and it looks almost exactly the same.
ALMOST.
A real designer bag isn’t the same as a fake one, believe me. And you can personalize a real Louis Vuitton bag, for example with your initials. And it isn’t that expensive to buy a real one, the prices start +/- around €500. So it’s affordable if you really want one that lasts forever. Because the real ones ARE forever, if your Vuitton needs to be repaired, the brand has an excellent service other brands should be jealous of!

This was my first post, and I wanted it to be about the most iconic purse ever. And for me, it’s the Speedy. I love many other handbags, but this was the first one on my wishlist.
And of course I wanted to share this with you.
